Not yet verified
Like Perseus slightly before him, the subject choice reflects not only Gilbert’s youthful recklessness, but also his consciousness of it.
About this deck
The Thames MMXX Icarus is a skateboard deck from 2024. It's one of 10 Thames MMXX decks from 2024 in the archive.
Listed by Thames MMXX's own shop, on sale 2024–2025. The date is from the shop listing, not necessarily the release. Like Perseus slightly before him, the subject choice reflects not only Gilbert’s youthful recklessness, but also his consciousness of it. Much of Alfred Gilbert’s work, including Perseus Arming and a model for Anteros, is currently on display at Tate Britain. Even more, thankfully, is on display at street level.
