Gailea Momolu

Gailea Momolu grew up in the east end of Ottawa, Canada, using the skatepark that now carries his name, and later moved to the United States to keep skating. Thrasher, as cited by Capital Current, called him the first Canadian professional skateboarder and a pioneer for Black skaters. Ottawa approved renaming the Beacon Hill courtyard skatepark after him in 2022.
