Jay Adams

Jay Adams was a skater from Venice, Los Angeles, who joined the Zephyr (Z-Boys) team in 1974 aged 13 as its youngest member. His low, surf-inspired and aggressive style made him one of the most influential figures of 1970s skateboarding, and he was often called 'the original seed'. He featured in the documentary Dogtown and Z-Boys (2001), was portrayed in Lords of Dogtown (2005) and was inducted into the Skateboarding Hall of Fame in 2012. He died in Mexico in August 2014, aged 53.
