Danny Sargent

Danny Sargent grew up in Portland, Oregon, and moved to San Francisco after school, where he became one of the city's leading street skaters of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Picked up by Schmitt Stix after Bryce Kanights spotted him, he was known for fast, long grinds on curbs and handrails, and Thrasher published his first handrail 50-50 photo in 1988. He later rode for New Deal, whose early-1990s Sargent graphics such as the Monkey Bomber have since been reissued.
