- Deluxe first distributed the Beware record label and other small labels popular with skaters, along with Thunder Trucks and Supercush bushings. [1]
- Spitfire Wheels launched under Deluxe in 1987, led by Jim Thiebaud. Real followed in 1991, started by Thiebaud and Tommy Guerrero, and Mark Gonzales's Krooked began in 2002. [1]
- Vitello, who also co-founded Thrasher magazine in 1981, died of a heart attack on 22 April 2006. [2][3]
- The Skateboarding Hall of Fame credits Vitello with creating Deluxe, which made Thunder, Spitfire, Real, Anti Hero and Krooked. It also credits him with the separate Street Corner Distribution. [3]
