Mike Vallely

Mike Vallely, from Edison, New Jersey, came to attention in Powell Peralta's The Search for Animal Chin (1987) and turned pro that year. He moved to World Industries in 1989, where his Barnyard board helped popularise the double-kick street shape, then rode for New Deal, Powell again, Black Label and Element. He has also founded several board companies, including Street Plant, and fronted Black Flag as vocalist from 2013.
